Finding the right window
Style, requirements and your personal taste
Finding the right window
Not all windows are the same. Location, orientation, climate, year of construction and building type all determine which window is right for your home. Here, you’ll learn what matters – and find the right one using four tools: quickly, clearly, step by step and based on reliable data.
What is the Salamander Method?
The C3 principle is the advisory framework behind Salamander’s myWindow app. It asks for the key parameters of your project and guides you through three levels to find the right window recommendation – Climate, Case, Customer.
)
Climate – Location & Orientation:
How much sun, heat and weather hits your window? South-facing windows gain energy in winter and require sun protection in summer. Temperature, rainfall and burglary rates in the area are also taken into account.
)
Case – Buildings & Construction Projects:
The proportion of glass, the glazing and the frames determine light levels, heat gain and insulation. With over 40 million homes in Germany and a new-build rate of less than 1 per cent per year, the right renovation strategy – tailored to the building’s age category – is of paramount importance.
)
Customer – You:
Your preferences are what make the difference. You can put together your window exactly to your specifications from the range of Salamander systems.
