Organic texture. Industrial strength.
Bio-hybrid material in black
Black pigments and shredded spelt husks are incorporated into the Salamander base material. The result: a surface with a wood-like feel — without a single foil.
Scratch- and impact-resistant surface without additional coating
Improved flexural strength and reduced thermal expansion compared to the standard profile
CO₂ savings through organic material — over the entire lifetime of the window
How spelt becomes a window
From field to profile
01
Spelt as a by-product
Processing spelt grain produces husks — until now often unused. Salamander deliberately collects this organic raw material.
02
Incorporation into the material
Ground husks are incorporated together with black pigments into the plastic base material. This keeps the CO₂ bound for the entire lifetime of the window.
03
Carbon storage in the window profile
Peat bogs store CO₂ for centuries to millennia: following a comparable principle, Greta®Fenster_dinkel binds the organic CO₂ in the profile for the entire lifetime of the window.
